Localizing multimedia almost always involves a sequence of specific steps. We can perform both the full cycle of works and its individual stages. In any case, you will receive a finished product that is easy and convenient to use.
What We Do
Before starting to process the materials, we convert them into text. Next, we translate, edit, improve and agree the text. Our text transcripts are easy to work with, as we label speakers by name, set up timecodes, and check spelling and punctuation.
Whether we translate a promotional video, investigator’s brochure or certificates of analysis, we place the highest value on the accurate translation and correct terminology. Even when translating relatively simple materials, we follow the algorithm approved for the translation of scientific papers:
- We ask our staff editors to identify the subject matter area of the text;
- We select translators with relevant experience and education;
- We make sure that the entire translation is reviewed by a scientific editor.
Such processing involves the considerations regarding the specific genre and audience of the video. For example, translations for children will differ significantly from those for adults. In the proofreading process, we edit the translation to lip-sync it with the speech in the original video.
In voice-over translation, the voice reading the translated script is recorded over the original audio track. In dubbing, a new audio track is created, where the sound engineer collects and syncs all the sounds used in the video, including noises, effects, and speech. We can also help you determine whether a particular video would be better with dubbing or voice-over.
Subtitles represent a textual aid to a video sequence that replicates the speech and captions on the screen. We make easy-to-read subtitles that don't distract from the content in the frame. They can either provide an alternative to voice-over and dubbing, or complement them.
We can change on-screen titles, captions, credits, logos, and other elements of the video. At the end, we will deliver a fully localized video.
